CCAC – SCHINE mission is to preserve, renovate and promote the Auburn Schine Theater Building in Auburn, New York. Built in 1938, the Schine Auburn Theater was a “jewel” in the Louis and Myer Schine’s Empire of cinemas.
City of Auburn will be voting on the Brownfields Grant Program dubbed by CCAC as the Schine Building savior.
We'll be gearing up soon for the first phase of our Brownfield Grant. This grant will allow us to then remodel and open the building.

Stop by and take a look at our "History of Film in CNY" display at the north side doors. It's lit so doesn't make a diff when you go. Our next display will be produced and ready for display in March 2012.
Well, the bad news is that the asbestos problem in the theater is not going away. The good news is that the City of Auburn Economic Development Department is helping by applying for a Federal Brownfield Grant that, if awarded, will study, plan and implement a solution. We are thrilled and certainly can use the help on this.
What a great day we had talking to people on Founder's Day in August this year. People bought Schine souvenirs and some volunteered and some made donations and pledges to our cause of renovating the building. Read more info on our News Page.

Thanks to Brenda Kayn, CPA for preparing our fifteen year audit. It was a big job that took many months to prepare and we are grateful for her diligence in this overwhelming task This is a most critical accomplishment that allows us to move forward in finding future funding vehicles.
